News

General Description

This section will allow you to manage the news content for your church.

Only the stories having a status of "published" will appear on your "news" page.

There is no need to enter any HTML to add line spaces or links. If you would like to add a space, simply press enter once or twice, depending on the look you would like. If you would like to put in a URL, simply type the link as it would appear in your browser, such as http://www.faithonline.com or simply www.faithonline.com. Email addresses can be added by simply entering the address, such as info@faithonline.com

Instructions

Give the story a title and then enter the content of the news item. The date and time will be automatically added to your news item.

If you would like to associate your news with a minstry, select the appropriate ministry from the drop-down box.

To upload a photo to be associated with the story, press the 'Browse' button. Find the picture you wish to upload and click 'open'. Next, click the 'Create' button to upload the story to your website.

New items are defaulted as "draft" status. On the view news page you will have the option to show stories by status (published and drafts). Select "All" if you would like to show all stories. You can also order your search by story name or by date, in ascending or descending order.

To have the item appear, be sure to click on view news, find the appropriate story as in above, and change its status to "published". You can edit or update each story by clicking on the update button. If you no longer want a story to appear, you can change its status to "draft" or delete the story by pressing the delete button.

Those that are members of a community church portal, such as SaultChurches.com, should select 'yes' if you want your news item to be part of the community site.

Notes
  1. Uploaded pictures must be in .jpg format.
  2. Be sure to give your photos descriptive names - if you attempt to upload a picture that has the same name as an existing picture, the existing picture will be overwritten. A good idea is to add the date to the end of the picture you wish to upload. For example, if you were uploading church.jgp on the first of January in 2002, you may wish to name it church112002.jpg
  3. If you would like to change a photo that accompanies your news story, choose another picture from your harddrive to update the existing picture.
